We are so blessed. Crystal, Karis, and I were able to go to Wyoming (along with Idaho and Utah) to explore the Tetons and Yellowstone last week. We really needed a break and feel so blessed to be able to get away.  Blessings my friends, below are a few pictures and the texts for this next week.

Greetings from the Grand Tetons

This week we are in Wyoming. It is a real blessing to be here. John Muir said, "Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul." I agree. The value of the Word and this week's texts

My friend and co-laborer for Christ Ryan Dent graduated from Mid-Atlantic Christian University on Saturday. On Sunday the Elder and I gave him a very nice Bible as a gift (a Cambridge Bible ESV goatskin, if you are a bit of a book nerd like me you will say "oh nice"). Below is what I wrote to him on behalf of the Elders of the church. I think it is applicable to all of us that seek to serve the Lord.

We feel blessed to serve with you at First Christian Church. Upon your graduation we wanted to give you the most important gift we could give you, the Word of God. You hold in your hand not only the most famous book in the world, but one that has extraordinary power to change lives, to change communities, and to change the world. Of first importance is that the Bible has the power to change you.

Remember that God saves people not just to get them to heaven; rather, He is, through His Holy Spirit, creating a people among whom He can live and who in their life together will reproduce God’s life and character. You have been blessed of God to serve Him, seek each day to love Him more, love His Word more, and love His people more and all will be well.

We look forward to many years of service together with you. We pray this Bible will be used for many, many years to help mold you into the image of Christ and that it will be used to make many disciples of Christ.
